Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using the DocsShelf mobile application (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
Description of Service
DocsShelf is a personal document management application that allows you to:
- Store and organize documents securely on your device
- Create encrypted backups of your documents
- Manage categories, tags, and document metadata
- Search and filter your document collection
- Protect your data with multi-factor authentication and encryption
Pricing and Purchases
One-Time Purchase
- DocsShelf is a one-time purchase application available through Google Play
- The price is shown in the Google Play Store at the time of purchase (subject to change)
- Payment is processed by Google; we do not collect or store payment details
- This is not a subscription (no recurring monthly/annual fees)
Refunds
- Refunds are handled according to Google Play's refund policies and timeframes

User Accounts
Account Creation
- You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
- You must be at least 13 years old to create an account
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password
- You are responsible for all activities under your account
Account Security
- You must use a strong password that meets our security requirements
- You should enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for additional security
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access or security breach
- We are not liable for losses due to compromised credentials
Acceptable Use
You May:
- Use the App for personal, non-commercial document management
- Store documents you own or have rights to
- Create backups of your data
- Share feedback and suggestions
You May NOT:
- Use the App for illegal activities or to store illegal content
- Upload malware, viruses, or malicious code
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or hack the App
- Store copyrighted material without proper authorization
- Use automated tools to extract or scrape data
- Impersonate others or create fake accounts
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
Intellectual Property
Our Rights
- The App, including all code, design, graphics, and content, is owned by DocsShelf
- "DocsShelf" name, logo, and trademarks are our property
- You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without permission
Your Content
- You retain all ownership rights to documents you upload
- By using the App, you grant us a limited license to store and process your documents
- We do not claim ownership of your documents
- You are responsible for ensuring you have rights to uploaded content
Data and Privacy
Data Storage
- All data is stored locally on your device
- We do not access your documents without your explicit consent
- Backup files remain under your control on your device or chosen backup location
Data Security
- We implement industry-standard encryption (e.g., AES-256)
- We cannot recover lost passwords or decrypt forgotten encrypted backups
- You are responsible for maintaining backups of critical data
Disclaimers and Limitations
Service Availability
- The App is provided "as is" and "as available"
- We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service
- We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time
- We are not responsible for data loss due to device failure or user error
No Warranty
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
- WE MAKE NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED
- WE DISCLAIM WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE
- WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP IS BUG-FREE OR SECURE
- USE OF THE APP IS AT YOUR OWN RISK
Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
- WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES
- OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP
- WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR DATA LOSS, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, OR LOST PROFITS
Backups and Data Loss
- You are responsible for creating and maintaining backups of your data
- We provide backup tools, but you must use them
- We are not responsible for data loss due to device failure, app uninstallation, or user error
Recommendations:
- Create regular encrypted backups
- Store backups in multiple locations
- Test restore functionality periodically
Updates and Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. Material changes will be communicated through app updates.
Termination
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to the App at our sole discretion, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.
Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of your jurisdiction, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
